Job Title: Brewer
Position Type: Full time, hourly non-exempt
Reports To: Brewery Owners
General Description:
Maxline Brewing is a locally owned and operated brewery in Midtown Fort Collins, Colorado. We are a fast growing, taproom-focused brewery, with a primary goal of maintaining a neighborhood pub feel. We are also focused on local keg distribution, and have just entered the packaging market through canning. Our goal is to provide superior customer service, deliver enjoyable, high quality and consistent product, and maintain a positive work environment for all of our employees.
We are looking for a full time, experienced brewer to join the Maxline Brewing Family as we continue to expand our operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Execute all necessary production duties, including but not limited to wort production, fermentation management, and bright beer handling
• New product development
• Support barrel aging activities
• Support canning operations
• Tank CIPs and SIPs
• Ordering raw materials
• Equipment maintenance
• Quality control
• Production record keeping
• Cleaning and filling kegs
• Maintain safety and hygiene standards throughout the production brewery area
• Willingness to participate in festivals and promotional events as needed while representing the company and the brand in a professional manner
• Managing key production requirements
• Coordinating production schedules with sales team and taproom manager
• Continuous process improvements
• Document, maintain and/or improve SOPs as needed
• Capable of self-direction in work activities given a broad set of goals from company owners
Personal Traits:
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers, customers, suppliers and other breweries
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Be a trusting, and trustworthy, team player
Physical Requirements and Work Hours:
• Lift 55 pounds from ground to shoulder height
• Move 165 pounds along the floor
• Work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Ability to drive a forklift, with training as needed
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments
• Able to climb scaffolding and ladders
• Work in small and confined spaces
• Able to work early mornings and/or evenings, primarily on weekdays, but occasionally on weekends if needed
