  • Cave Hill Farms (Virginia)-- Head Brewer Position

Cave Hill Farms Brewery would like to announce that we are now looking for a head brewer to run a brand new, 10 barrel system, that will be arriving in the in the beginning of February. We aim to on-board a head brewer by the arrival time of our system to assist in brewery design and layout. We are located at the base of Massanutten 4 Season resort in Rockingham Country, Virginia. 3,000 tourists visit Massanutten each week and pass by our door every day. We aim to capitalize on this as well as our proximity to Harrisonburg, VA, which is home to four colleges, JMU, EMU, Bridgewater College, and Blue Ridge Community College. Some of the qualifications requested are below:

-Ability to formulate unique beer recipes with farm grown ingredients
-Ability to manage staff (With assistance of a GM) up to 20 people
    -Adaptability
-Overall management of a brand new 10 barrel brew house
-Client relations (down the road when we begin distribution)
-Kitchen management (deciding between a full industrial kitchen or other options)
-Social Media and business development experience preferred

We are a very unique brewery as we are one of the first farm breweries in the state of Virginia. We currently produce hops, barley, and various crops/fruits that we look to incorporate into our unique beer styles. We also have a well that's been nourishing our crops for generations.

Our farm history dates back to 1759 when we were awarded our farm land from the King of England. This deep history is something that we look to capitalize on with our brewery, as we have records of our ancestors brewing way back to 1850. We will incorporate this with our slogan and branding.

Our brewery currently resides in a redesigned cattle loafing shed that use to be the home of up to 400 cattle before they went into the milking parlor. We have a 20,000sf building that is rich with antique farm equipment. This building is located on the edge of a 370 acre farm that is overlooked by the peak of Massanutten.

We aim to be operational by the end of February or early March for the Spring and Summer Seasons.

Please send all resumes, cover letters, and references to ehopkins22@gmail.com, walthopkins@cavehillcorp.com, and lisahopkins@cavehillcorp.com. We look forward to hearing from all regardless of past experience and the above qualifications.
