Assistant Distiller - Baltimore Spirits Company

The Baltimore Spirits Company is seeking an Assistant Distiller to expand production of its flagship Epoch Rye Whiskey and line of innovative, world class spirits. This position will be the first addition to the production team and will work closely with the Head Distiller in all aspects of operation from scrubbing floors to R & D.

Job Description:

• Assist in all aspects of distillery operations including but not limited to mashing, distilling, bottling, proofing, liqueur production
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work space
• General warehouse including forklift operation
• Interact with customers in tasting room and offsite tastings

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1-3 yr production work in a distillery or brewery
• Able to work night shift
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Understanding of principles of fermentation and distillation
• Mechanical knowledge of distillery or brewery operation
• Background in Chemistry, Biology, or Food Science preferred
• Professional degree or course certification in distilling or brewing preferred.
• Sensory tasting experience
• Patience, good problem solving skills, and a willingness to take initiative
• Desire to learn and create innovative spirits in an old world style distillery.
