  • Head Brewer/Production Manager Western Wisconsin

Ready to move back to the Midwest and put down some roots? If you are looking for a lifestyle change from the craziness of coastal life or life in the big city, then maybe this job is what you are looking for. If a culture of outdoor activities like world-class biking, hiking, climbing, skiing, fishing, kayaking or just being around beautiful rivers and lakes is your thing, then keep reading. Sick of the ridiculous cost of city life? How’d you like to own a home with a yard, in a great neighborhood for the cost of renting? These are some of the reasons we built our brewery here. It’s a small, independent city but it’s growing because people come here to attend one of our three Universities or to work in one of our teaching hospitals or to get a tech job and they end up never leaving (kinda like we did 😉 ). While some parts of the country experience “brain drain” , around here we have “brain gain!”

Our brewery will be screening applicants immediately for a Brewery Operations Manager. This job will start in the first quarter of 2019, as we staff up for our continued expansion. Competitive salary based on experience, benefits and a relocation stipend.

Well-qualified applicants will possess these skills:

Excellent leadership skills: the ability to lead by example, to delegate authority and to take responsibility for a staff
The ability to adapt to our culture of excellence, responsibility and personal growth.
Minimum of five years commercial brewing experience.
Minimum three years of personnel management experience.
Brewing Science Degree or Certificate in Brewing Science from UC Davis, Siebel or equivalent.
Minimum two years of occupational experience in QC/QA in brewing or food manufacturing or Certificate.
An established career in an operational role in a manufacturing facility
A thorough understanding of all aspects of beer production, including grain handling, yeast management, filtration, centrifuge, packaging and QA/QC
Is extremely organized, detail oriented, has strong analytical skills, and can handle complex tasks
Has the utmost respect for quality and cleanliness
Has proven leadership skills and will cultivate an enthusiastic company culture for staff with accountability and ongoing feedback
Is a strategic thinker, has a desire to innovate, and proactively identifies and solves challenges
Possesses excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment
honesty, is hard-working, and the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization.
A working knowledge of OSHA requirements and a proven track record of focus on building a safety culture
Possesses financial skills and can work within an annual budget and for project management
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects
Experience with brewing software (EKOS, VIP, OB)
