Housatonic River Brewing a very busy 6 month-old microbrewery located in North Western CT is looking for a creative and experienced Asst Brewer who values the opportunity of helping run a small brewhouse with lots of tanks. This person will work very closely with the owner/brewer. There is a potential for the right person to move into the head brewer position some day.
We have a fun environment and loyal customer base with an active mug club with 300 members. Live music on the weekends in the tap room and a huge outdoor beer garden.
Our system and requirements:
* 5bbl Stout brewhouse (delivered new in 2018)
* Six 5bbl fermentors for lots of variety and we serve from eight 5bbl bright tanks.
* Rotational/experimental style poised for expansion, constantly brewing new recipes and trending styles
* BrewerÂ’s playground, lots of room for input on recipes and ideas. We are constantly looking to push boundaries and bring new flavors to beer drinkers. With a balanced mix of eclectic and
traditional beers, we provide a very fun opportunity for a skilled brewer looking to flex his creative and technical muscle.
* Brewer is responsible for all processes and procedures surrounding the brewing process, including cellar work, tank cleaning, yeast management, spent grain handling, quality control.
* Minimum 2 years brewing experience required
* Experience in production facility a plus
* Canning line operation a plus
* Formal brewing education a plus, but can be matched by relevant experience
* Technical knowledge and maintenance skills of all brewhouse parts (Pumps, glycol, etc.)
* Ability to create and adhere to a safety protocol
* Ability to accurately log and record all pertinent information for management
