    Production Manager for Superstition Meadery

    Salary - Depends on Experience

    Job description:

Superstition Meadery is searching for an outstanding individual to lead an amazing production crew of 4 full time mead and cider makers and several part time labelers. This person will oversee all aspects of producing mead, cider, wine and hard seltzer including fermentation, filtration, formula submissions, COLA submissions, packaging, kegging, the barrel aging program, ordering supplies, warehouse management, tracking inventory, scheduling, facility maintenance, as well as daily, weekly and monthly reporting to ownership. From daily briefings to weekly meetings, this is a true leadership position but also one that exists to support the mead makers so that they have the goods and proper functioning equipment to do their job.

The Production Manager will interface regularly with ownership, our Sales Manager, and Tasting Room Manager. You will wear many hats and every day will be challenging and unique. You will also have constant opportunities to create new products and introduce well thought out solutions to improve what we do. You will be passionate about craft beverages, creative, and know how to get things done.

We offer paid vacation time, sick time, and travel opportunities to collaborate and pour at events. Salary is negotiable and depends on the experience you will bring to our company. At Superstition we value staff who appreciate our vision and want to contribute to our innovative processes, products, and positive reputation in the craft beverage industry that we have all worked very hard to establish and maintain.

    Requirements:

Respect, Accountability, Pride, Strong Work Ethic, Positive Attitude!

The ideal candidate will possess academic winemaking or brewing training as well as production management experience from a reputable craft beverage or wine producer. Prior experience with making mead or cider specifically is not required, but knowledge of the industry is desired. He or She will have the knowledge, skills and abilities to lead Superstition into the future as we continue to experience aggressive growth and constant positive change. The candidate will need to be well versed in all aspects of fermentation, trouble shooting equipment such as bottling lines, filters, and keg cleaner, know how to run a lab and QA program, be willing to adapt to aggressive and constant change (redundant on purpose), and be an excellent communicator. The candidate will understand industry trends, have a working knowledge of MS Office programs, and professional email correspondence skills are essential, as is the prior experience with or ability to master our production and inventory management program, Ekos Brewmaster. You should understand basic accounting and budgeting principles and be able to forecast needs and develop growth strategies. You will need experience in directing, motivating and inspiring workers with diverse personalities, drives, and priorities. Oh, I almost forgot, a sense of humor is required!

    About Prescott:

Our small business is located in a beautiful Arizona mountain town. Prescott (Press-kit) is known as “Everyone’s Hometown” and “Arizona’s Christmas City” and offers several colleges. It has a hip town square with an emerging craft beverage and food scene, and with miles of trails it is the mountain bike capitol of the state. Several lakes, lots of wildlife, four seasons with beautiful weather, and great schools make this town a good choice for families. And being less than two hours from skiing in Flagstaff or spring training games in Scottsdale, the location is ideal.

    About Superstition:

We make many of the highest rated and most awarded meads and ciders in the world, we have been a top 100 “brewer” on Ratebeer.com 4 years in a row and we were recently named the best small business in Arizona by the Small Business Development Center. We made 300 gallons of product in 2012 and are now the largest winery in Arizona. We operate a Production Facility and separate Tasting Room in Prescott, and we are preparing to open a Restaurant/Tasting Room in Phoenix. We have a sales team shipping mead B2C through the Superstition Webstore to 38 states plus DC, and we distribute to 12 states and export to 13 countries. We strive to maintain the highest level of production quality and customer service from distro sales to pouring at our underground bar. Superstition is a fun place to work and we look forward to meeting you.
