    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Restaurant Assistant Manager (RAM) is a full-time position reporting to the General Manager. The RAM duties occupy the entire range of activities in the Riverbend Taps, Beer Garden, and brewery store, and will change according to staffing scenarios. The Front of House is an area of focus for the RAM, with responsibilities that include hiring and supervision of all staff along with training and on-going coaching. The RAM will fulfill the supervisory and operational responsibilities of the General Manager when they are not present.



    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Personal integrity and professionalism are a prerequisite. The candidate must be a mature team player who has a genuine enthusiasm for the job. Responsibilities include supervision of staff, reliable and consistent implementation of operating policies and controls, and delivery of customer satisfaction. We are looking for someone whose experience includes working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted food service and retail operation with seasonal peaks. The candidate must have strong organizational as well as people skills. The candidate should also possess a positive attitude, enthusiasm, passion for customer satisfaction, and a commitment to excellence.



    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Supervision of Staff
    • Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding Front of House staff
    • Training Front of House staff, with specific focus on beer, menu, operational procedures, and customer service
    • Evaluating and managing job performance of Front of House staff
    • Ongoing evaluation and periodic performance reviews
    • Scheduling Front of House staff
    • Hands-on coaching and guidance to ensure compliance with all SOPs and standards
    • Maintaining professional relationships with all co-workers, ensuring that Front of House and Back of House teams are working together seamlessly
    • Maintaining professional appearance of all Front of House staff
    • Organizing and administering staff consultation and grievance procedures
    • Documenting staff-related issues and terminations
    • Conducting exit interviews in conjunction with General Manager
    • Investigating and responding to issues related to employee relations, proactively identifying issues and concerns, and providing advice regarding the creation and implementation of corrective plans of action


    Operational Management
    • Establishing and implementing policies and procedures specific to Riverbend Taps which include but are not limited to:
    • Recruiting Front of House staff
    • Onboarding
    • Training
    • Periodic performance evaluation
    • Ongoing professional development
    • Developing written checklists and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency of operations
    • Assisting with store inventory and management as needed


    Finance and Administration
    • Monitoring and reporting of financial performance of retail operations; compliance with cost guidelines while maintaining highest quality service standards
    • Submitting all required paperwork for newly hired Front of House staff
    • Submitting all required paperwork for departing Front of House staff
    • Forecasting and adjustment for seasonal business, weather, events, etc.
    • Opening/closing restaurant as needed
    • Leading monthly inventory close
    • Serving as point of contact for Merchandising Manager on all retail items; participating in Retail Task Force


    Health and Safety
    • Maintaining ServSafe certification
    • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized retail operation
    • Complying with all local and state health and safety requirements



    REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
    • College degree preferred
    • 2+ years of experience in food and beverage management preferred
    • Highly organized and energetic
    • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Established competency with:
    • POS systems
    • Cash routines
    • Food and beverage operations
    • Hands-on approach
    • Passion for customer satisfaction and engagement
    • Genuine enthusiasm for craft beer



    WORKING CONDITIONS
    • Variable hours that include night, weekend, and holiday work
    • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, stand for a prolonged amount of time, and lift products/supplies weighing up to 65 lbs.
    • Working with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment
