  • Keg Storage

Can a kegged beer be stored at room temperature without losing quality?

Running out of cold room storage and would appreciate feedback on whether or not there is a discernable difference of quality between a kegged beer that is stored in cold room from fill to dispense and a kegged beer that is filled and left out for a few weeks at room temp 72 degrees?

Definitely a difference. That is why AB cold store / cold transport all their beers - and they are stabilised to hell and back, filled with only a few ppb oxygen content, filtered and pasteurised, which extends the shelf life enormously anyway. If they think it is worth it, what do you really think a few weeks at 70 F + with process and packaging conditions far below these standards going to do to your beer. Yes, it costs money to cold store. But poor shelf life beer = poor quality overall and will cost you even more - perhaps your livelihood.
