BREWER POSITION
Mad Fox Brewing Company
Brief Description
The Brewer position will work directly with our Executive Brewer on all aspects of the brewing process. There is an expectation that brewery staff participate in festivals, and other promotional events.
Due to the strenuous work required to operate a brewery the ability to lift and move 50 pound + malt bags, as well as frequent dead-lifts of 165 pound + kegs to a height of 2 feet is a requirement.
Qualifications
We seek an individual who possesses high standards with the ability to develop our brewery program. Someone who has a passion for beer and the brewing industry as a whole. A candidate for this position should have a commitment to a brewing career, as demonstrated by some practical experience in a brewery and a formal brewery education (preferred but not required). Computer proficiency required.
Responsibilities
*General
-general plant cleanliness
-full awareness and proper management of a potentially hazardous environment
-attend festivals, beer tastings, and other special events
-equipment maintenance
-inventory management
*Brew house production
-raw materials receiving, storage, and handling
-measure out raw materials to developed recipes
-spent grain disposal
-tank cleaning/sanitation
-brew house cleaning and general cleanliness
-operation of brew house equipment for wort production
-yeast handling
*Cellar Work
-data collection
-cellar transfers and clarification
-filter setup, sanitation, operation, breakdown, and cleaning
-tank cleaning and sanitation
-general cellar cleanliness
-keg/cask cleaning/sanitation
-keg and cask filling operations
-yeast management and harvesting
-proper beer carbonation levels
-cooperage inventory management
*Finished Beer
-cleaning of beer lines and faucets (including beer engine and jockey boxes)
-cask ale work
-preparation of keg orders for distribution
-up-to-date communication with staff
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience and training. Benefits include paid medical insurance and vacation.

Mad Fox Brewing Company is a large brewpub with a 15 bbl Premier Brewhouse and six 30 bbl fermenters located in the City of Falls Church, Virginia. We are distribution in Virginia, DC and Maryland with the expectation to continue growth through expansion of our production capacity.
