  • Thanks in advance!--How To Connect Gärmeister CONTROL To Thermowell

    Hello Every Brewer,

    Hope you are doing well!

Currently, we are custom fabricating several fermenters for our clients. We are discussing the parameter of thermowell, our clients told us they ordered and receive Gärmeister CONTROL as link https://shop.speidels-braumeister.de...eister-control and sent me some photos.

I found there is no connector on his temperature controller and send him the photos of IFM fitting for sensor (https://www.ifm.com/ca/en/product/E30018) which we usually use and ask him to contact the supplier to get the connector. Unfortunately, he didn't find.

I know Gärmeister CONTROL is very famous for homebrewer and I think there are lots of brewers are using it. Can you share with me your solution for connecting Gärmeister CONTROL to the thermowell of your tanks please? Then we can machine the thermowell as your suggestion.

    Much Appreciated!

    Cheers,

The Adapter shown in the photo directly above appears to have MALE Pipe threads. As thus, your thermowell would need to be sized for the probe diameter and length, and your welded on fitting would need to be FEMALE pipe threaded to the same size. You will need one of those units in hand to get this done correctly. This is the way it appears from what has been shown.
It would eb best to consult the OEM of the control for direct information on the matter.
As an aside,I would not advise using this kind of control.

I agree with Warren that this is not the best option for temperature control in ferms/brights, for several reasons.

It's much better and more convenient to have all the temperature controllers grouped in a central control panel.

The RTD probe needs to be firmly seated in the thermowell. Our mounts all use a spring to keep the tip of the probe firmly in contact with the end of the thermowell.

Additionally, the probe length needs to match the depth of the thermowell.

The device shown cannot do either of these. This is a home-brewer toy, not a professional brewery tool.

        Thanks for your suggestion Warren,

I will design an new adapter for the temperature controller for client. I just wanted to find somebody who used this kind of controller to find a better concept.
