  • Diversity Brewer Internship

    Job Description:

Tired Hands Brewing Company is pleased to announce our Diversity Brewer Internship program. This internship will provide new brewers from nontraditional backgrounds with an opportunity to gain entry into the brewing industry, and substantive training in brewing skills and experience to launch their brewing careers. Tired Hands Brewing Company operates two brewery restaurants, a production brewery with keg packaging and a canning line, a barrel aging facility with a bottling line, a coolship, and a retail store. The focus of the internship is on production. Interns will learn how to put theoretical understanding to life as a brewer, in our strange and beautiful brewery.

The Tired Hands Brewing Company Diversity Brewer Internship program is open to people who are nearing completion of, or have recently (see note below) completed a brewing education program or related degree or certificate program. The internship is designed for people from diverse backgrounds presently underrepresented in the brewing industry (examples include women, racial/ethnic/religious minorities, people with disabilities, first generation Americans, LGBTQ, etc.) who seek a career in brewing. Interns must be authorized to work in the United States.

Interns will be selected on the basis of their past work and educational experience, the quality of their educational program and how well they performed in that program, their knowledge of beer and brewing, their aptitude for a career in brewing, and their passion for brewing.

The internship program runs for 12 weeks working part-time at 20 hours a week, or 6 weeks working full-time at 40 hours per week, depending on the intern’s scheduling needs. All weeks must be completed contiguously to learn hands-on skills in the brewery and practice those skills with work assignments. Interns shall be compensated with a $2,500 stipend, paid biweekly.

    To apply:

Submit a copy of the Diversity Brewer Internship Application, a copy of your most recent transcript, and a cover letter detailing your qualifications for the internship program as outlined above. Completed application materials may be submitted on or before April 15, 2019. Please visit our website at www.tiredhands.com/jobsatthbc/ for more detail, and to access submission instructions.

Note: Recently means no more than 12 months have elapsed from the date of receiving the degree at the start time of the internship. Interns should be prepared to enter the workforce full-time at the conclusion of the internship.

We look forward to hearing from you!
