Brewer at Historic Brewing Company, Flagstaff AZ
Historic Brewing Company, located in amazing Flagstaff AZ, is looking for a brewer/assistant to join our team. We operate on a 15bbl brewhouse with 300bbl of fermentation space plus a 3bbl pilot system and plans of expansion. We focus on balancing variety for our own retail locations as well as volume for distribution while maintaining a high standard of quality. We also like to have fun and enjoy ourselves in the brewery.
Brewery Responsibilities
Brewery operations including wort production on both 15bbl and 3bbl system, data recording, cellaring and filtering, packaging, and general brewery maintenance
Recipe development for 3bbl batches
Cleaning of kegs, vessels, and brewhouse
Working as part of and leading canning line operation
Yeast management
Quality control
Packaging of kegs, bottles, and crowlers
Organize the entire brewery and its materials like grain, hops, kegs, parts, etc.
Receiving and shipment of goods and materials
Takes part in and leads sensory training and evaluations of beer
Always keep safety in mind and ensures the brewery is OSHA compliant
More cleaning
Administrative Responsibilities
Record keeping and organization
Working of brewery related events like festivals, beer dinners, collaborations, etc.
Works with Marketing on all membership clubs including Smug Mug Club and Brew With Us program.
Being a brand ambassador everywhere you go
Experience and Education
A minimum of 1 year experience in production brewery or completion of brew training course.
Solid working knowledge of the beer and brewing industry.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing setting and requires mobility inside and outside of the brewery. Movement is spent in manufacturing areas while performing various tasks. Conditions can be hot, cold, moist or dry. The use of a phone, Mac/PC, printer, and Point of Sales system are required.
Physical Demands
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (8+ hours). Requires at times high and low levels of movement with the ability to reach with arms, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and squat. Requires the lifting of items up to 55 lbs and moving full kegs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position that requires a flexible schedule, often-working weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Shifts include as early as 6am and as late as 12am.
