Job Title: Cellar Operator
Classification: Full Time
Reports to: Head Brewer
Rincon Brewery is looking to add a Cellar Operator to our brewing team. The Cellar Operator will assist where needed in the brewery. Cellar duties include but are not limited to harvesting yeast, dry hopping, cleaning tanks, washing kegs, transferring, carbonating beer and general maintenance. Professional experience is a plus and a passion for craft beer is a must. This is an entry level position with plenty of opportunities to advance.

The ideal candidate will have:
• 1+ years of experience working in a brewery
• Experience and knowledge of all aspects of the brewing process, i.e. raw material handling, packaging, general cellar work, raw material evaluation
• A desire to clean anything and everything
• Technical understanding of beer, fermentation, yeast handling proficiency, lab tests (including plating and cell counting), batch monitoring experience
• Experience and proficiency in following SOPs and working safely with chemicals
• Strong communication skills (verbal, email, in house messaging), and proficiency in filling out appropriate paperwork
• Strong work ethic and be able to work within a team AND independently with a great attitude
• Full availability throughout the week. Day, night, and weekend shifts may be required
• Desire to learn and willingness to contribute where needed, whether on brewhouse, in cellar, packaging, beer deliveries etc...
• Appreciation of craft beer

Typical physical requirements will apply, including:

• Ability to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Ability to lift 55 pound grain bags, 44 pound hop boxes, maneuver full kegs
• Ability to ascend and descend staircase and/or ladder repeatedly throughout shift and stoop in close quarters
• Ability to be frequently exposed to wet conditions and work in cold and heat
• Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors. Work safely with chemicals
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
• Ability to work in a moderate noise level and in a fast-paced environment
This is a part-time position (<30 hours per week). The right person will have the opportunity for more hours/responsibility. Pay will be dependent on experience.
