We are a 7 year old production brewery in one of the fastest growing neighborhoods and cities in the country - South End, Charlotte, NC. We have a large, busy taproom with seating for 120 inside and over 100 outside. In 2017, we opened a large private events space and 7 bbl brewery in the building across the street and had over 100 private events in the first full year in our 5000 SF banquet hall. We brewed just over 6,000 barrels in 2018 and have distribution in North and South Carolina.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Full Time - Pay will be commensurate with experience + benefits per year
Work closely with the President to ensure innovative and high quality beer production. Lead Assistant Brewers in all aspects of the brewing process including: wort production, active fermentations, dry hopping, conditioning beer, lab monitoring and packaging. Actively maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Essential Duties:
Quality control of all processes from grain to glass on 15 and 7 BBL brewhouses
Effectively manage and encourage a team of brewers
Efficient Scheduling of all brewing applications
Monitor inventory and order ingredients accordingly
Daily monitoring of active fermentations and cold aging beer
Work with brew team to improve safety, quality, and efficiencies
Yeast management
Manage Barrel Aging Program, clean and sour
Ensuring timely fermentations and tanks are turned within established guidelines
Monitoring for microbial contaminants
Weekly sensory analysis of aged product and consistency analysis
Maintaining brewery equipment and assisting with repairs
Training Asst. Brewers in all Cellar and Brewhouse Operations
Maintain accurate records and EKOS operations
Other Duties:
Assist on the packaging lines as needed
Assist on the brewhouse as needed
Assist with pilot batch production
Develop new recipes on 7 BBL Pilot Brewery
Assist fellow employees as needed in clean-up of premises
Assist in off site promotional activities and festivals.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA regulations and requirements
Safely operate a forklift
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
At 3 years commercial production brewery experience
Committed to quality
Displays meticulous attention to detail
Understand the basic science of brewing
Is Comfortable following and writing Standard Operating Procedures
Displays excellent verbal and written communication skills
Functions well in a team environment
Has strong process awareness
Possesses mechanical aptitude with brewing equipment
Is comfortable with Recipe Development
Has experience with production forecasting and scheduling
Has experience with raw ingredient ordering
Can lead others
Is passionate about brewing and interested in learning
