    River North Brewery is seeking a brewer to assist in all aspects of brewery operations, including brewing, cellaring, and packaging. This is a great opportunity to join a small, tight-knit team of beer fanatics. The right candidate for this position will have a passion for life (and beer), appreciate an eclectic selection of music, enjoy taking on technical challenges, and always strive to brew the best beer possible. This position reports to the Lead Brewer.

    Responsibilities:
    • Perform regular brewing and cellar operations
    • Operate canning and bottling equipment (Meheen, Wild Goose, Ska Fab)
    • Operating keg cleaning equipment
    • Monitor fermentation
    • Maintain beer quality at all steps in production
    • Work with clean-in-place chemicals based on standard operating procedures
    • Ensure equipment and facilities are clean, operable, and safe
    • Follow operating procedures and safety protocols in all aspects of production
    • Maintain accurate fermentation and brew logs
    • Receive deliveries of raw materials
    • Prepare outgoing beer shipments
    • Troubleshoot technical problems and propose solutions
    • Occasionally represent the brewery at both internal and external events
    • Occasionally support the needs of tasting room and sales functions
    • Other duties and additional tasks as assigned by the Lead Brewer


    Experience:
    • 1-5 years of brewing/cellaring/packaging experience in a production brewery
    • Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required
    • Experience with Meheen and Wild Goose bottling/canning equipment strongly preferred


    Must be able to:
    • Stand for 8-10 hour work shifts
    • Work occasional early/late shifts, sporadic weekend events
    • Work well with a team and be flexible
    • Safely handle hazardous chemicals according to standard operating procedures
    • Work in manufacturing environment with humidity and temperature shifts
    • Able to frequently lift 55 lbs. and push/pull/move objects up to 160 pounds (kegs).
    • Able to sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl
