    Packaging Manager
    APPLICANT INFORMATION – PACKAGING MANAGER

    We are looking for a mechanically inclined, creative minded and hard working individual to join our team here at Foundation Brewing Company with the position of PACKAGING MANAGER. This opportunity is FULL TIME and requires relevant experience. The deadline for applications is Monday, April 15th @ 8 PM.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Packaging Manager is responsible for operating, care, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and documentation of all packaging related systems including but not limited to the canning line, labeler, keg washer, bottle filler, and air compressor, as well as taking on other duties throughout the brewery as assigned, primarily cellar work. This is a repetitive job well-suited for an individual who takes pride in minor details and understands their impact when considered as a collective whole in the brewery. The position provides an excellent benefits package and promises an invigorating, exciting, and ever-evolving work environment. Flexibility is important. This position reports directly to the Director of Brewing Operations.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • A dedication towards maintaining a safe, clean, and neat workplace
    • Lead operator of all packaging related equipment
    • Maintain and oversee the development of an essential spare parts inventory
    • Keep records of repairs and develop or make necessary changes to planned maintenance schedule
    • Work with other operators to identify areas of required maintenance before equipment failure
    • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair brewery and packaging equipment related problems such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electronic
    • Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and other tools necessary to complete repairs
    • Oversee cleaning and maintenance of kegs with regular validation
    • Maintain accurate and thorough log sheets and other written information
    • Develop/maintain SOPs related to packaging
    • Ability to operate or train to operate forklift
    • Transfer packaged goods to warehouse via our box truck
    • Plan and communicate inventory needs for packaging
    • Cellar work
    • Embrace changes in procedure geared towards ongoing improvements to process and of working beer knowledge
    • Experience in a fast-paced work environment is essential
    • Develop relationships with key vendors
    • Work with Director of Brewing Operations to schedule preventative maintenance where required
    • Perform any and all other brewery related tasks as assigned
    • Flexibility is a must. Unscheduled repairs will require your expertise at unexpected times.


    REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:
    • Minimum age requirement is 21 years.
    • Demonstrable top-notch mechanical skills.
    • Ability to actively listen and cooperatively solve problems and relate well to others
    • Ability to systematically solve problems.
    • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism and commitment to following through and achieving results
    • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Is able to triage and prioritize both day to day and longer-term projects
    • Strong and demonstrable knowledge of mechanics and repair
    • Ability to read and interpret operating manuals and repair manuals
    • Highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
    • High attention to detail, accuracy and precision
    • Strong troubleshooting/problem solving/logic/process of elimination skills
    • Passion and desire to continuously self assess and improve


    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Two Year Technical Certificate or Four Year Degree a plus.
    • Proficiency with Google Suite products (Microsoft Office Equivalent)


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
    • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
    • Must be able to work in hot, cold, and wet environments
    • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and frequently lift 60 lbs. and occasionally up to 170 lbs.
    • Must be able to drive vehicles with either a manual and / or automatic transmission
    • Must be able to use a ladder, i.e., work at heights of 10+’ above grade
    • Must be able to operate a fork truck, electric hand truck, and mechanized lifts.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work odd hours, sometimes evenings and weekends.
