We’re facing some legislative issues with the three tier system in our state and I’m looking for some info about how the industry is regulated in other states. Anything that works well? Anything that doesn’t?
For example: in my state manufacturers can self distribute, and retail 5gal/person/day for off premise consumption but manufacturers are limited to 36oz/person/day before 8pm on premise sales, no live entertainment, no TVs etc. to try and separate us from retailer tier. This has caused a huge rift between manufacturers and our retailer customers who view us as competition and believe manufacturers are breaking the intent of the three tiers with our retail operations. Any examples of successes and failures in your own system would be great to hear!
