We are looking for a brewer with a strong mechanical aptitude and a love of craft beer. We would prefer someone who has worked in a commercial brewery, but we will train the right person. The most important skills are ability to retain information, think logically and demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude. (Why? There are lots of moving parts in a brewery and things go wrong and you need to be able to fix them!)

Our brewery is located in Estacada, Oregon, at the base of the Mt. Hood National Forest and only feet from the beautiful Clackamas River. Rafting, fishing, hiking- that is the life style we live out here. Yet, we are within 25 miles of Beervana,(about 35 miles to downtown) otherwise known as Portland, Oregon. Imagine living AND WORKING in such a beautiful place! We would prefer someone who will live in the area, but again, we are open.

We are an established brewery with a strong brand presence in Portland and a growing market in Oregon, Washington and Canada.

We have a new Metal Craft 15 barrel brew house and last year we produced about 1500 barrels. We are not a large brewery, which should be appealing to the right person. There are plenty of line brewer jobs in Portland, where you will be doing the same thing day after day. But if you are interested in involvement with the entire business of brewing, then this may be the job you are seeking.

The needs of the beer determine your schedule, so you must be able to work a varying schedule, including early morning, evening, and occasional weekend shifts. This position entails strenuous physical work, including lifting at least 75 pounds and moving at least 170 pounds, stooping, standing and climbing. You must be able to communicate effectively, document as needed, and work well with a team as well as independently.

Compensation is definitely within market and is somewhat negotiable depending on skills that you bring to the business. We have an immediate opening so please apply soon. Send a resume (documents, no links please) to "brewer@fearless1.com"
