    Objective
    This position is responsible for ensuring outstanding guest experience and efficient operation in the Tap Room, while acting as a lead to bartenders, kitchen employees, support staff, & lower-level managers. The Tap Room Assistant General Manager assists the Tap Room General Manager & reports directly to the Tap Room General Manager.

    Essential Responsibilities
    • Act as a lead to a staff of 40+ bartenders, line cooks, support staff, and hourly & salaried managers in a high-volume, dynamic taproom environment
    • Maintain successful Tap Room operations by enforcing policies outlined as standard operating procedures.
    • Act as an ambassador for visiting brewers, wholesale partners, retailers and others
    • Serve Oskar Blues beer in a fashion that communicates the brewery’s passion for quality, knowledge, and customer service at all times
    • Explain Oskar Blues brands in an accessible, engaging way to guests both familiar and new to the brewery’s brands
    • Inform on-coming staff of daily items
    • Open and close the Tap Room by following written protocol and checklists
    • Maintain and troubleshooting all aspects of multiple draught beer dispensing systems
    • Maintain and troubleshooting of all aspects of various kitchen equipment
    • Reconcile all cash banks at the end of the night and recording the daily deposit
    • Accept deliveries of kegs and packaged beer from Packaging Department and wholesale partners
    • Update POS terminals via POS software
    • Update Beer menus to reflect current draft and package
    • Assist bartenders with ensuring timely service
    • Assist kitchen employees with ensuring timely and accurate execution of food items
    • Report any issues, concerns, or pertinent items in daily Manager Notes
    • Communicate clearly and demonstrating willingness to help all team members
    • Assist General Manager with accurate recording of periodic inventories
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

    Additional Responsibilities
    • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.


    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Cicerone Certified Beer Server® required within 90 days of hire
    • Servsafe Alcohol Certified required within 90 days of hire
    • Servsafe Food Handler Manager Certified within 90 days of hire
    • Previous full-service restaurant experience required
    • Able to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
    • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from sales staff, distributors, co-workers and management.
    • Ability to communicate and present information effectively before all levels of employees and management.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to analyze and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Ability to use logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions.
    • Ability to operate and use a PC computer.
    • Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge focusing on Microsoft Office suite of programs.

    Physical & Mental Requirements
    Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations. Required to frequently lift 50 lbs., and lift, push or pull 165 lbs. kegs. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
