  • Brewer/cellarman at Brewpub/Production Brewery in New Hampshire

Hobbs Tavern & Brewing Company, a GABF-medal winning 7-barrel brewpub located at the foothills of the White Mountains of New Hampshire, is seeking a full-time cellarman/brewer to help with production as our planned expansion nears.

The right candidate will exhibit a passion for craft beer – and not just for drinking it. This is a ground-level position at a fast-moving company with a lot of vertical (and quick) growth for the right person. We are currently building a 20-barrel production facility, so we hope this candidate will quickly grow within the brewery as we expand and begin operating two different breweries. The new production facility is about 12 minutes south of our brewpub.

The goal for this position out of the gate is two fold:

    1) learn our SOPs and handle cellar duties, and
    2) learn the brewhouse in the pub and begin training as a brewer.

Once the SOPs and cellar duties are understood and can be executed on a daily basis, we want to shift this person to more brewing responsibilities. Once the new brewery opens up (the goal is September 2019), the game changes quite a bit as we figure out brewing responsibilities in two locations. The production brewery will feed our two-head Wild Goose canning line and feature a taproom. The current brewery will then brew pub-favorite beers that aren't destined for cans/distribution, experimental beers, R&D, just plain fun stuff, etc.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Following SOPs in cleaning fermentation tanks, serving tanks, kegs, tap lines and general cleaning in the brewery
    • Transferring beer to serving tanks
    • Carbonating and testing carbonation levels
    • Dry-hopping
    • Working on our two-head Wild Goose canning line
    • Working events and beer festivals
    • Assisting the head brewer on some brew days (to start)

Experience in a brewery is preferred, but not required to apply.

Please email brewery@hobbstavern.com with a cover letter, resume and references to apply.
