Cellar Person
Our Mutual Friend Brewing in Denver, CO is hiring a full-time (30-40 hrs a week) Cellar Person with a minimum 1 year professional experience or degree in brewing. We are an adventurous brewery making saisons, hoppy beer, lagers, and experimenting with unique processes, and local ingredients among other things. We currently brew on an 8 barrel brewhouse. Quality and safety are always in the forefront for our brewery.
Responsibilities:
Recording fermentation gravities, temperature, and activity daily
Understand and carry out proper yeast management and handling
CIP and COPs of all process equipment
Dry hopping/Adjunct additions
Maintain an orderly and safe work environment in department as well as entire facility
Participate in QA/QC sensory analysis
Good departmental and interdepartmental communication
Work with strong and often hazardous chemicals
Heavy physical work (bending, kneeling, pulling hoses, etc.)
Work continuously on wet floors and with wet equipment
Cleaning Kegs
Kegging Beer
Transfer beer from fermenter to brite tank.
Stocking the draft cooler with beer
Cleaning draft lines
General draft system maintenance
Working with Front-of-House to ensure harmony in the draft cooler
Skills/Qualifications:
Previous cellar experience is preferred
Good mechanical and problem solving skills
A full understanding of cleaning and sanitation procedures
Must be able to work varying hours depending upon production schedule
A positive attitude in a demanding and repetitive production environment
Strong orientation towards quality control and safety
Ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities while focusing on detail
Strong communication ability, both written and verbal
Able to stand on feet all day
Ability to lift over 50 lbs
Licensed and able to drive a motor vehicle
Compensation for this position will be $15/hr
