East Brother Beer Co is a growing production brewery and taproom, located in Richmond, CA. We are looking for an experienced brewer to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• General brewing duties including milling, mashing, lautering, wort boiling, and transferring to fermenter.
• Assist Cellar Team with CIP/SIP of vessels & brewhouse, dry-hopping, filtration, carbonation, and packaging.
• Manage the 100 Pints Program, our pilot series.
• Enhance, follow, and maintain brewery SOPs.
• Yeast Management: Harvesting, Pitching, Tracking, Cell Counts.
• Perform and assist with tank management (gravity checks, trub dumps, dry-hopping, VDKs)
• Maintain brewery and brewery equipment as well as general facility cleanliness.
• Follow safety protocols and best practices.
• Maintain a sanitary production environment.
• Certified Forklift operator.
• Assisting Team Members as needed in all brewery operations.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professionalism.
• Have fun.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional brewing experience.
• Passionate about beer
• Flexible schedule with nights and weekends may be required.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to comply with safe chemical handling procedures, including personal protection equipment such as gloves and goggles
• Must be able to climb stairs, use a ladder, work at heights above 10 ft., and lift up to 60 lbs. and able to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Desired

• 2 years’ experience, but we are willing to train the right applicant.
• Passionate about beer.
• Desire and ability to be the Team Leader and assist in the planning and execution of daily and weekly tasks.
• Experienced operator of canning and labelling line, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with pumps, glycol systems, boiler, basic electrical, basic plumbing and facilities maintenance.
• Assist in recipe development for seasonal/specialty beer.
