    TDS meter recommendations

I'm in the market for a TDS meter. Any recommendations on which one to choose? I'm leaning toward the Hanna Dist6

A TDS meter is a dead-simple unit. There are units that are much less expensive than the one you cite.

True accuracy with a TDS meter is not possible and no amount of spending will make it 'more so'. A TDS meter is best used as a 'relative' measure of your water's variation.

This is exactly why I use a Sonkir unit from Amazon for about $12 (and that was a mid-range unit). Has worked flawlessly.

I believe all these “cheapos” use an EC measurement that is converted to TDS for display purposes.

" Hanna " makes some of the most ultra cheap, low end, problematic, Lab Gear in the known universe.
A lot of which will show a high and early failure rate, and is quirky and nonsensical to use.
If you make any attempt to contact them for Tech support on one of their meters, I will be surprised if you get ANY response at all.
Can they work in some cases?
    Maybe.

Thanks for the input. My main reason for wanting one is to monitor my RO system for changes as filters need replacing. I like the sound of $12.
