    Lone Pine Brewing Company is currently seeking experienced candidates for the role of Lead Laboratory Technician. This individual will work directly under our Director of Brewing Operations and alongside other department leads. Candidates must be capable of thriving in a busy and fast paced environment. Candidates must be physically able to perform labor-intensive tasks at a safe but rapid pace, while remaining detail oriented and quality focused.

    LEAD LABORATORY TECHNICIAN PREREQUISITES
    - Minimum 4 years lab experience working in a production brewing facility
    - Intimate understanding of the brewing process
    - Experience implementing and overseeing brewery QA/QC systems
    - Chemistry experience a plus

    Lead Laboratory Technician position duties include:
    - Run routine analytical analyses on beer samples including: pH, gravity measurements, alcohol, and other analytical tests
    - Sanitary yeast collection, propagation, and maintenance
    - Design, implement, and oversee brewery QA/QC operating procedures
    - Run routine analyses of packaged beer for oxygen, carbon dioxide, fill level, etc
    - Develop and maintain statistical standards across product lines to confirm a consistently high quality finished product
    - Conduct inspection and analysis of package integrity and specifications
    - Utilize sterile technique to obtain and process microbiological samples
    - Coordinate quality analyses ensuring accurate results, timely completion, and proper responses and notification
    - Work in direct contact with the USM QC2 program to outsource any analyses that cannot be performed on site

    All applicants MUST have:
    - Proof of legal age for alcohol consumption in the State of Maine
    - Legal authorization to be employed in the State of Maine
    - Long-term commitment to the craft beer industry
    - Passion, creativity, technical/mechanical savvy, and commitment to quality and innovation
    - Physical capability to lift 60 pounds and move 165 pounds
    - Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, namely MS Excel and Outlook
    - Flexibility to work long and/or odd hours, including nights and weekends

    Details:
    Position available immediately. Full time salary DOE. Access to group benefits including health insurance options. Paid time off.
