    About the Company
    10th Street distillery is a grain to glass distillery in Northern California. We are crafting award winning whiskeys using time honored Scottish traditions and good old American ingenuity. Join our passionate team on the journey to create the first great American Single Malt.

    Summary
    We are seeking a Distiller to support all aspects of whiskey production. Responsibilities span the entire spirit production process, from grain receiving to packaging. In this unique and exciting opportunity, you will perform and oversee all manufacturing operations in our, grain-to-glass distillery in San Jose, CA. This includes milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling, maturing and bottling operations.

    Duties And Responsibilities
    • Drive quality manufacturing of our premium spirits by adhering to established processes, assist in data collection and process control to ensure consistent products
    • Grain Handling: Receiving bulk grain, storing, milling.
    • Mashing: Operate mash tank and ensure recipes are strictly adhered to
    • Fermentation: Monitor active fermentations to ensure proper alcohol production
    • Distillation: Carefully monitor distillation and adhere to established processes, ensure all metrics are being met and process data is collected
    • Barreling: Receive, prep, fill, label, and store barrels in accordance with company standards
    • Bottling: Rinse, fill, cap, label, and case spirits in accordance with company policy.
    • Cleaning and Sanitization: Ensure distillery environment is kept clean, maintain tanks and equipment to the highest standard of cleanliness, run CIP (Clean in Process) on stills and tanks according to established process
    • Inventory Management: Assist with raw material, spirits in process, and finished goods inventory including receiving, processing, storage and record keeping.
    • Operate transfer pumps, motors, pallet jack, forklift (optional), steam boiler, mill, and miscellaneous other machinery associated with the production of spirits safely and in accordance with company policy.


    Required Qualifications
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    • Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team
    • Possess problem solving, communication, and organizational skills
    • Mechanical and technological inclination a must
    • 2+ years previous brewery or distillery experience desired but not necessary
    • This position requires proper and safe handling of materials and operation of complex moving machinery
    • A bachelor’s degree in science preferred
