    Job Description

    The position of packaging line technician / operator will support safe and sale-ready can packaged products by ensuring proper function of all can line equipment in alignment with the production schedule.

    Job Duties

    • Attentive to the machine’s operation at all times; identifying and correcting jams and malfunctions as they occur
    • Oversee all line maintenance
    • Provide support for preventive maintenance during planned and unplanned down-time
    • Work with Can Line Manager and Production Manager to plan and tend to necessary maintenance
    • Clean canning equipment proficiently and in a timely manner
    • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail throughout the packaging process to ensure quality standards and operational efficiency is not compromised
    • Conduct Initial review of materials and documentation from suppliers in accordance with provided instructions
    • Participate in QA/QC sensory analysis with focus
    • Conduct inventory of parts and perishables
    • Initiation of DHR in Quality system, and item record in ERP
    • Maintain DHR and shipping records
    • Label and ship finished product
    • Adhere to and practice safety protocols at all times
    • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    • US High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum 2 years of rotary can line experience, preferred
    • Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack. (Live Oak will provide certification, if needed)
    • The understanding of can packaging operation in its entirety including but not limited to equipment cleaning and maintenance

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Understand the interface and operation of Brite Beer Tanks, preferred
    • Ability to comply with safe chemical handling procedures, including personal protection equipment such as gloves
    • Understand the importance of safety practices, as well as, good sanitation and cleaning practices
    • Knowledge of and proficiency with Microsoft products, email, and other technologies as required
    • Team player who is flexible
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Filler is Comac mfg, carton packer is Switchback, depal is Ska, BBTs are JVNW.

    Physical Requirements

    • Required to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time, (10+ hours a day) stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, and climb ladders and stairs.
    • Ability to frequently lift up 50 pounds at a time. Including repetitive movements and lifting above head height, reaching with arms and pushing/pulling various weights up to 50 pounds.
    • The work environment conditions vary often with fluctuating temperatures, noise and moisture levels.
