    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Harpoon Beer Hall (HBH) Sales Representative is responsible for selling private hospitality events at the HBH and, more broadly, securing business on a leisure basis from neighborhood companies. This individual will work closely with the Private Events team to ensure an optimal guest experience. Success will be measured in part by achieving sales revenue targets, acquisition of new customers, and positive post-visit feedback. The ideal candidate will have professional experience as a self-managed, outside sales individual with a genuine passion for bringing people together to enjoy great beer and great beer-drinking experiences. The HBH Sales Representative must be a confident, independent self-starter with competitive drive, initiative, and a sense of urgency to achieve sales goals. This position requires well-developed communication and organization skills. The ability to build, maintain, and leverage relationships, including internal collaboration to produce an optimal guest experience, is essential.



    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Business Development
    • Leading Management
    • Responding to all sales leads from Tripleseat (private events software program) and other sources in a timely fashion
    • Documenting lead information
    • Maintaining call records and key account development action plans
    • Prospecting and developing new corporate & group account base
    • Serving as HBH lead presence in hospitality industry networking groups, including but not limited to: Greater Boston Conventions & Visitors Bureau, Greater Boston Concierge Association, SKAL, etc.
    • Leading HBH partnership activities with catering companies and other hospitality partners (e.g. tour companies, hotels, restaurants, etc.)


    Sales Execution
    • Creating annual sales plan with goals, budget, call plan overview, and target account list
    • Managing event creation with customers from initial contact to finalized run-of-show, and communicating accordingly with Events team
    • Actively participating in event production when appropriate
    • Post-event follow-up with customers
    • Regular communication with existing customer base


    General
    • Complete knowledge of HBH goods and services
    • Mastery and ownership of Tripleseat (private events software program)
    • Advising HBH management on tools and resources required for successful private events business (brochures, media, networking opportunities, etc.)
    • Identifying new programming opportunities for private events (e.g. special beer dinner menus)
    • Ensuring that prompt and courteous service is extended to all external parties and internal stakeholders



    REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
    • Must be 21 years or older
    • Valid and clean driver's license; reliable transportation to service sales territory
    • Proof of insurance on personal vehicle is required
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred or equivalent sales experience
    • 2+ years of professional outside sales experience, preferably in the hospitality industry
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to quickly connect with others
    • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and collaborate with decision makers
    • Enthusiasm for craft beer and Harpoon
