Astro Brewing Company is a microbrewery in the planning stage that will be based in the historic Seminole Heights neighborhood of Tampa, Florida. Our vision is to provide a place for local residents to unwind, relax, and meet their neighbors in a friendly atmosphere, while enjoying a delicious freshly crafted pint of beer. Our success will rely on crafting an excellent beer and providing superior customer service. We are looking for a creative brew master interested in providing support during the installation of our new 3.5 bbl electric brewing equipment and to lead the first test batches. The brew master will also be responsible for establishing relationships with grain, hops, and yeast vendors to jump start the inventory. Brewing and cleaning operating procedures and inventory management system will be developed by the brew master. He will develop classic style recipes that will be critical to the success of the brewery. Rotating unique recipes such as experimental, seasonal, or innovative styles will be our differentiator and will provide novelty products to our patrons.
Qualifications:
• 2+ year professional brewing experience is required.
• Ability to create and produce unique new recipes.
• Advanced knowledge of brewing science, recipe scaling and brewing process.
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude. Things change fast in a growing business and we need someone who’s flexible and willing to help where needed.
• Commitment to brewery safety and beer quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all steps of the brewing process.
• Washing and repairing kegs
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and purging tanks and kegs according to set standards
• Ensure work area is clean and well organized
• Ensure tank exteriors are cleaned regularly
• Filling kegs
• Occasional weekend Festivals/Promos/Tastings
• Maintain clean and safe work area
• Enjoys interacting with customers and giving occasional brewery tours.
Full-time, Monday-Friday. Occasional weekends.
Pay will be depending on experience. Minority ownership of company will be offered to qualified candidates.
