Outworld Brewing is a new craft brewery, restaurant and entertainment venue in eastern Longmont, Colorado brewing and serving Belgian, Bavarian, and American-style beer and food. POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an outgoing Assistant Brewer to assist the Brewery Team in any and/or all operations involving the Brewhouse.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY
Cleaning and maintenance responsibilities including but not limited to:
CIP and tank preparation of all FV’s, BBT’s, and draught lines
Maintain clean keg inventory
Keep a clean working environment across the entire brewery including the exteriors of tanks, floors, and walls
Help ensure mechanical elements of facility are operating properly
Cold-side operations including but not limited to:
Execution of fermentation schedule
Dry-hopping and cold-side additions
Transfer and/or filtration of finished beer
Carbonation
Kegging
Accurate and consistent record keeping including but not limited to:
Fermentation logs
Transfer and process records
QC analytics
Packaging records
Inventory counts and FIFO management
Quality Control Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor aspects of fermentation (extract, pH, etc.)
Monitor proper chemical usage in brewery, cleaning, packaging operations, etc with proper personal protective equipment.
Troubleshooting skills and proactive root cause analysis experience and mentality
Data logging and analysis
Perform forced diacetyl tests and sensory evaluation
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have 1+ years brewing and/or cellaring experience in a high-volume brewpub or production brewery.
Computer literacy: Beer30, Excel, Word and Outlook.
High school graduate or equivalent. Formal brewing education preferred.
Desire to build, enrich, and further define the quality reputation of Outworld Brewing.
Ability to collaborate/work well with others as well as independently as necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to work in standing position for long periods of time.
May be required to reach, bend, stoop, climb stairs and ladders.
Able to frequently lift heavy materials (minimum 55 lb. boxes or bags shoulder high up to 50 times daily) and full kegs.
May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week as needed.
