  • Brewer - Lumberbeard Brewing - Spokane, WA

    Lumberbeard Brewing is a new brewery opening late Summer 2019 in downtown Spokane, WA. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to get in at the beginning of a start up brewery and grow along with the company. Displaying a desire to learn more about professional brewing along with a strong work ethic are essential for success in this position. We are in the midst of construction on our 14,000 sq. ft facility. There is 10,000 sq. ft production area with approximately 4000 sq. ft of tasting room. We will be installing 20 BBL brew system with available room for expansion. This position is to work alongside the Head Brewer to commission the brew system and assist with daily production.


    General duties will include but are not limited to:
    -All brew day operations
    -Washing & filling kegs
    -CIP of tanks, brewhouse, yeast brinks, and any other equipment
    -Performing cellar operations, yeast cell counts, monitoring gravities, etc.
    -Keeping dry-storage, cold boxes, brewhouse organized
    -Following SOP (standard operating procedure) in each phase of fermentation, clarification, carbonation and packaging
    -Occasional coverage for keg delivery
    -Forklift driving after certification

    Qualifications
    -21 years of age or older
    -A strong passion for brewing and a desire to advance personal growth in the brewing industry
    -Strong organizational habits, a self-motivated work ethic, and good critical thinking/problem solving skills
    -Ability to take direction and work independently
    -Ability to multitask and manage time while being detail oriented

    Physical requirements:
    -Must be able to lift 55 lbs consistently for milling and be able to move 165 lb kegs occasionally
    -Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day
    -You can't be afraid of physical work and getting dirty
    -Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
    -Willing to work in wet, hot and cold conditions
    -Willing to work in consistently loud environments
    -Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals

    Experience in any of the following is preferable but not required:
    -Packaging/cellar/brewing in a commercial brewery or brew-pub
    -Homebrewing
    -Brewing education
    -Mechanical and electrical skills
    -Science background
