Assistant Brewer for hire in Manistee, MI
North Channel Brewing is looking to hire a full time assistant brewer to round out our team. Manistee is on the shores of Lake Michigan offering a great community, year round outdoor activities with world class fishing and low cost living.
North Channel Brewing is a vibrant, growing, craft brewery with a state of the art brewhouse that recently began regional distribution.
Qualifications - Experience in a production/labor environment - Brewery experience preferred but not required - Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing things right the first time - Ability to work efficiently and cleanly - Able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions - Ability to work on feet for full shift - Passion for beer and desire for on-going learning and education - Able to work safely in environment containing potential hazards - Ability to lift 55 lbs to shoulder height and maneuver 170 lbs of weight - Basic computer/data entry skills
Job Responsibilities - Cleaning and sanitizing duties throughout the brewery, cellar and entirety of the production space - Assist with equipment CIPs - Washing and filling of kegs - Monitor beer throughout fermentation process - Assist with wort production, as needed - Ensure proper documentation of processes - Perform all tasks in accordance with North Channel Brewing Co.'s Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Assist at brewery festivals, conferences, and other events in the community, as needed.
