As a member of the Barrel and Foeder Team, you will be directly involved with and responsible for the Big Bad Baptist and Oak & Orchard brands at our Denver location. This team is fully hands-on and expected to operate all processes involved in the production of wood-aged beers at this facility. This full-time position works under the direction of the Barrel and Foeder Manager and the Head Brewer and is expected to collaborate and work with members of other departments.

Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Barrel/cask maintenance and repairs.
-Foeder upkeep and maintenance.
-Use proper equipment and record gravities, pH, and TA on active vessels.
-Filling of casks with beer or storage solution as necessary.
-Assist with the organization and logistics of filled casks.
-Upkeep of barrel storage at offsite, storage location.
-Sensory evaluation of wood-aged beer.
-Blending of aged-beer into fermentors via a CO2-driven Bulldog.
-Treatment of stainless-steel and wooden vessels with fruit, coffee, cocoa nibs, and other additives.
-Operation of a pump for treatment or cleaning of such a vessel.
-Use of manual palate jack, electronic jack, and forklift.
-Stand and perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time.
-Lift 55 pounds over short distances.
-Lift 100 pounds briefly.
-Communicate barrel and foeder needs with other team members and staff from other departments.

Skills/Experience Requirements
-21 years or older (alcohol consumption)
-Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends and/or holidays to meet deadlines and during periods of high volume work and work weekend and weeknight events.
-Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.
-Passion for craft beer is a plus.
-Knowledge of barrel-aged and sour beer flavor profiles is preferred.
-Cellar and brewing experience a plus, though not required.
