Minn’Ohana Brewing is a start-up brewpub located in Mankato, Minnesota. We have an immediate opening for a head brewer to help lead our production team. The Head Brewer will oversee all operations of a 2-bbl system, with a cellar comprised of 4 conditioning tanks, and 8 serving tanks. All beer is sold in-house, tank to tap.
Responsibilities and qualifications
2-5 years professional brewing experience
Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills are a must
Interest in, and passion for, recipe formulation
4 year degree or equivalent preferred
Mechanically inclined
Able to lift and maneuver 50+ lbs. in close quarters
Excellent computer skills
Proven brewing, filtering, tank cleaning, etc. skills
Work with our general manager to maintain all record keeping and filing of reports to both state and federal regulatory agencies associated with the brewhouse (excise tax, Brewers Report of Operations, etc.)
A strong self starter with a strong work ethic and be able to motivate others and innovate with minimal supervision
Inventory management
Implement QC and QA protocols
Development of new and innovative recipes to ensure Minn’Ohana stays fun and current, while ensuring flagship lines remain consistent
Be available as an ambassador for Minn-Ohana Brewing both on and off premise events. As such, additional weekend work to attend festivals, trade shows and participation in other events are required.
