    Company Overview
    Springfield Brewing Company (SBC) is located in Springfield, Missouri, and has been an integral part of Springfield since 1997. Originally opened as a showcase facility for Paul Mueller Company’s locally produced and internationally known stainless steel equipment, Springfield Brewing Company has grown into a well-respected brewer of great ales and lagers, now selling these beers in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas. Our current production volume is 3,000 BBLs/year with cellar capacity currently permitting 6,000 BBLs/year. SBC sells about 1,000 BBLs/year through our restaurant taps and all growth has been through distribution channels in bottles and kegs.


    Job Responsibilities
    The Brewery Operations Manager is the leader of the SBC Brewing Group and is responsible for production scheduling, managing brewery staff, and ordering and contracting raw materials, as well as being an integral part of the production staff.

    Manage Brewery Business Unit
    * Responsible for brewery budget and personnel
    * Supply chain management of brewing raw materials and packaging supplies
    * Maintain sales and production reports
    * TTB records and tax filings

    Brewery Duties
    * Schedule and manage all brewery labor and production

    Beer Sales and Marketing Duties
    * Manage sales and marketing staff
    * Participate in distributor meetings and manage distributor contracts
    * Manage events calendar (festivals, farmer’s markets, special events, etc.)

    Community Involvement
    * Participation in at least one Springfield-focused business or civic organization is mandatory
    * Work with community groups to have SBC beers part of local events when possible

    In-House Activities
    * Facilitate SBC staff training about our beer
    * Work with restaurant staff to coordinate brewery and restaurant efforts to promote our beer

    Brewing Equipment and Physical Plant
    * Improve and manage preventative maintenance program
    * Troubleshoot and manage equipment repair as needed
    * Report all equipment issues to ownership group

    Qualifications
    * 5+ years of experience in similar role
    * University degree in food science, biology/microbiology, engineering, or other related discipline
    * Professional accreditation through institutions like UC Davis, American Brewers Guild and Siebel are preferred
    * Valid driver’s license
    * US Citizen or US Work Visa
