The correct method if you want flow control is to use a flow control faucet, not something in the line.
They are pricey but work well.

Balance your lines right and you don't need doohickeys...

Think that if you plan and execute a balanced draft system, then you don't need gimmicks. Don't like the flow control faucets, either. Keep it simple, do a good job, and you can have reliable draft easily.

I'd expect to get break-out on the downstream end of the restriction. I've had bad foaming problems just from using slightly under-sized hose barb couplers in my beer lines.

As gitchigumee replied, just balance your system correctly and you don't need gadgets. If you have wildly different carbonation levels between products, just dedicate lines to each level. If your carb. levels vary within a single product, look at your process.

Phillip, never said I lked them and yes they ARE a way to cover mistakes without any doubt.
With that said they seem to have an envelope of usage that you may not have encountered as yet in your travels. I am talking real shade tree operations that are hung by a thread.
The rest of the story would be complicated.....but here it is.
The fact is neither The Brewemaster, nor myself have the time or the inclination to go about fixing all the local accounts draft systems that may be serving our beer of ALL their sordid and manifold problems This comes under the heading of the " Grossly Impractical." As thus, those confounded faucets have a deinite purpose in the known universe in " some " unusual cases.

PS-the White Aerosol grease is an absolute Godsend. The most noteworthy aspect of it being how it goes on in liquid state and solidifies, so it can penetrate. Its saved many a situation.
What I discovered many years ago is that going in with an open mind, its possible to learn and see things that are quite unexpected even if they are offputting at the onset.
