    The Brand:
    Bull City Ciderworks is founded on the belief that Different is Delicious! Recognizing that the cider market was flooded with sugary sweet beverages that didn’t do the apples they were made with justice, the BCC team started crafting and perfecting ciders in the backyard. After some different, and not so delicious, failures, a base cider unlike the rest was created: Off Main! The company’s distribution and production has grown significantly from the days in the garage, but the same values and focus on innovation and creativity are just as strong with our expanded team and product lineup.

    The Position:
    Seeking a motivated team oriented individual for a Cider Maker/ Cellar Staff position to assist in the Lexington, NC production facility. Training will be provided, but the ideal candidate will also have production experience in a commercial cidery, brewery, or winery. In addition to basic production knowledge, the ideal candidate must possess a willingness and passion to learn, work in a team environment and pursue opportunities/skills to enhance production efficiency at BCC.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    ● Practicing BCC procedures for receiving juice deliveries, pitching yeast, and fermentation monitoring.

    ● Basic understanding of filtering, carbonation and adjunct additions to finished cider.

    ● Help to develop new recipes with the use of bench trials.

    ● Recording quality control tests according to BCC Lab Procedures.

    ● Proper tank maintenance and cleaning, according to BCC SOPs.

    ● Operating cellar equipment, such as transfer pumps, cross-flow filter, keg cleaner and kegging equipment.

    ● Keeping cellar space organized, clean, and inventoried with items essential for production.

    ● Reporting to Head Cider Maker, General Manager, and Owners as needed for additional tasks.

    Required Qualifications:
    ● 21 years or older.
    ● High School Diploma or equivalent.
    ● Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
    ● Able to work in a standing position for several hours.
    ● Able to bend, kneel and stoop occasionally.
    ● Able to carry up to 50lbs.
    ● Able to maneuver up to 165 lb kegs and containers.
    ● Able to move heavier items using tools such as a hand truck, pallet jack, or a forklift.
    ● Knowledge and passion for craft beverage culture (cider, beer, wine, mead, etc.).

    Additional Desired Traits:

    Experience in a commercial cidery, brewery, or winery; or extensive homebrewing background. Ability to understand theoretical concepts of fermentation science and also perform some mathematical calculations with guidance. Mechanical aptitude and/or experience working in a technical trade. Ability to operate a forklift safely. Ambition to grow and influence a rising company in the Hard Cider community.
