    ASSISTANT TAPROOM MANAGER

    JOB PURPOSE:
    The Assistant Taproom Manager will work directly with the General Manager to provide supervision and support to the NPBC Bar Staff in the successful execution of the company’s standards of service and exceptional customer experience. This position will be responsible for day to day communication, accountability, and follow through of administrative duties and projects, while maintaining the highest quality representation of the company inside our taproom. The position’s allotted managerial hours may be supplemented with bartending shifts which are in turn included in the tip pool.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Work to maintain a welcoming, educational, exciting, and inviting experience for all guests. Monitor guest relations and serve as point person for guest complaints and/or special needs.

    Provide excellent customer service to all guests, with the goal of engaging the guest in conversation, creating regulars, and maximizing the customer experience. Respond promptly and appropriately to all guest requests and concerns.

    As needed, provide support to Bartenders, Tap Room Servers, and/or Bar Staff in performance of essential job functions. Ensure staff has appropriate resources to complete their essential job duties.

    Keep staff informed of all day-to-day issues including but not limited to programming, events, promotions, product details

    Work with Event Coordinator, Bar Staff, and Servers to successfully execute on-site events from set up to break down.

    Generate and share ‘End of Shift’ or ‘End of Night’ reports to ensure timely dissemination of important operational information

    Track all cash, credit card, and gratuity transactions for Bartenders and Servers. Maintain accurate and thorough reporting of safe levels and End of Day reconciliation.

    Complete various maintenance and repairs as needed, and coordinate with General Manager as major needs present themselves.

    Work closely with General Manager to complete and maintain administrative and project-based responsibilities. These may include but are not limited to staff scheduling, preventative maintenance, inventory, supply ordering, house beer evaluation, and staff education.

    Have a thorough understanding and actively maintain the company’s Draft Quality and Maintenance Program. Be able to proactively troubleshoot related issues and problem-solve during shift.

    Learn to thoroughly operate and train others to operate POS system

    Participate and support creation of checklists and standard operating procedures.

    Follow checklists and standard operating procedures.

    Maintain highest level of customer service and professionalism with guests, management, and co-workers.

    Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and assist as needed with ensuring all shifts are appropriately staffed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Must be at least 21 years of age.

    Prior work experience with bar/restaurant, brewery, winery, and/or retail experience.

    Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check.

    Possess demonstrated leadership skills.

    Possess strong interpersonal skills and a genuine love and aptitude for meeting and interacting with people

    Possess strong problem-solving skills through ability to diagnose and implement solutions

    Possess thorough attention to detail and desire to take initiative. Must adhere to company policies and procedures.

    Possess strong multi-tasking and organizational skills

    Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money.

    Possess or be able to obtain a food handler’s card and training on alcohol service (LEAD Certification).

    Possess working knowledge of beer and craft beer industry.

    Possess strong knowledge and enforcement of ABC laws.

    Possess awareness of local, state, and federal health and sanitation laws.

    Able to communicate effectively and be understood in English.

    Able to lift heavy objects (25 – 50 lbs.) on a continual basis. Able to transport up to 160 lbs. (full kegs) with assistance. Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for up to 8 hours per shift. Able to work in crowded and confined spaces.

    Able to maintain excellent customer service and professional appearance suitable for guest interaction while working under pressure.

    COMPENSATION:
    Hourly Commensurate With Experience
