  • Cooling options for fermenter

Stout Tanks 2bbl fermenter, non jacketed. What cooling options are out there other than the lid with cooling coil that Stout offers?

you've only got internal cooling or external cooling.

    coils for the interior.

exterior is a fermentation chamber you buy (upright fridge/freezer) or build DIY. some folks have attempted to wrap glycol around the conical, either in metal tubing or othewise. a user here tried to use blue discharge hoses from home depot wrapped around the tank for the glycol, didnt work but that was on plastic conicals. for stainless it might work if its single wall.

    thats about it.

      Add on cooling coils

That is a great question. As mentioned above, cooling coils and fermentation chambers are the best route. Putting coils on the exterior can be difficult and often lacks the btu exchange needed to cool your fermenting beer.

The most effective cooling method is the internal cooling coils because they are directly submerged in your fermenting wort and have a lot of surface area to exchange the heat produced during fermentation.

Here is a link for the coil lid for our standard cf80tw-fv

Do you sell just the coil with TC fittings without the lid? I didn't see it listed on your website.
