  • Question for Cool Bot Users

Can someone comment on the heat generated by the AC unit? My brew space is less than 700 sq ft and I will have a small 48 sq ft cooler with a Cool Bot. I'm concerned about the exhaust heat.

You query does not really concern " Coolbot " proper, but the heat rejected by a window type AC unit. The heat rejection is calculated by the BTU's captured in the evaporation part of the cycle plus the heat of compression, plus wattage of motors etc. Its all math and depends on the unit in question. Bottom line is this type of unit is not really a good way to run a walk in box unless you are rejecting heat " outside." Full stop. Even then its a cut corner approach, laden with pitfalls that can quickly cancel out the seeming benefits.
Setting up a walk in correctly is seriously not that difficult or expensive to do it right.

Used walk-in coolers are cheap and easily available, even way out here in the boonies. Why cobble together a long-term headache when you can just do it right once?

Unless your condensing unit is outside of your conditioned airspace or water-cooled, you almost certainly will have problems with excess heat.

It's "not much". I would care to figure it out if it seemed to make a difference, but it doesn't. Running a 24,000 btu A/C with coolbot in a 10x12x8 walk in box. The whole setup cost me $1000 and it cost about $50/month to operate.

Our tap room is 1200 feet square with 18 foot ceilings, so a good bit of head space. I also run a 1.3 ton chiller inside.
