Urban South Brewery is a production brewery and taproom in the heart of New Orleans, LA. We are seeking an experienced brewer to join our team who is committed to pursuing and maintaining our mission, vision and core values. We are three years old and are one of the fastest growing breweries in the country. We'll produce 15,000+ bbls of beer for distribution in 2019 and have a robust pilot and special release beer program. We are looking for a hard-working and passionate individual to join our team.
JOB TITLE: R&D Brewer and Barrel Program Manager
REPORTS TO: Head Brewer
FLSA POSITION TYPE: Full-time (40 Hours per week)
POSITION SUMMARY: The R&D Brewer will be involved with all areas of brewing beer and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in and around the brewhouse and cellar operations. Individuals in this position will be expected to follow the correct procedures while maintaining a high level of cleanliness and quality. In addition, the R&D Brewer will perform a variety of tasks as assigned in the brewery and warehouse, including cleaning, installation and maintenance of production equipment. A flexible work-schedule is required. Work hours will include evening shifts and weekends on a rotating basis. This individual will work with our head brewer in leading and managing our innovation program - including off-the-wall single keg infusions, our 7bbl pilot system, and our barrel program, which includes both clean beer in spirits barrels and sour beer production. This individual should bring significant innovation and/or barrel and sour beer production experience and a seriously creative spirit.
