  • Harvest Cellar Hand - Edgefield Winery & Cidery - Troutdale (Portland Metro), Oregon

McMenamins Edgefield Winery is hiring for the 2019 vintage. We offer a unique harvest opportunity close to Portland, working with a wide variety of grapes from Oregon and Washington. We process around 450 tons of grapes annually and produce still, sparkling, and fortified wines, as well as making hard cider and seasonal specialty ciders. The winery is housed at McMenamins’ historic Edgefield property, located just 15 minutes outside Portland in Troutdale, OR. In addition to the winery & cidery, Edgefield is home to a historic hotel, three restaurants, multiple bars, a brewery, a distillery, a golf course, a spa, and much more.

The positions will start approximately mid-August and run through early November.

Duties of the harvest cellar workers may include, but are not limited to:

    - Fruit processing
    - Sanitation of processing/cellar equipment
    - Pump overs
    - Punch downs / cap management
    - Barrel work
    - Draining and pressing off bins and tanks
    - Other harvest related duties as required

Prior harvest experience is preferred, although not required. Above all, we are looking for a passion for winemaking and cidermaking and a willingness to work hard.

Candidates need to be capable of working long, hard hours including overtime, weekends and evenings. These positions will require a fair amount of time outdoors in all weather conditions.

Interns will be responsible for paying any travel and housing costs. Compensation includes meal credits for use on property.
