    Tired Hands Brewing Company is looking for a qualified person to join our Brewery Team as Head Brewer at our BrewCafé. The Head Brewer will managing all aspects of production on our precious BrewCafé system to produce Strange and Beautiful beer. The Head Brewer will utilize our Fermentaria and Dispensary staff as well as our Brewery Director as support in conducting brewery operations, handling the beer through every step of the process. The BrewCafé Head Brewer will also be responsible for innovating, identifying efficiencies, and implementing them.

    This job requires a person with experience and maturity who can independently operate a pub brewery facility. Members of the production team should have a positive attitude and be committed to keeping an immaculately clean work space.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Working closely with and reporting directly to our Brewery Director on a daily basis

    Developing, following, and enforcing proper SOPs in all aspects of production

    Managing raw material purchasing and inventory

    Managing brewery staff members

    Assisting in hiring/promotion/training of brewery staff

    Assisting in maintaining adherence to SOP’s

    Managing employee schedules & attendance

    Enforcing company safety & conduct policies, and SOP’s

    Scheduling production operations

    Assisting in forecasting of beer needs

    Developing and implementing recipes (exploration and innovation being central to the

    BrewCafé mission)

    Ensuring in-house draft operations are in line with company standards and policies

    Managing documentation of all production operations

    Wort production on a 5bbl Peter Austin brewhouse

    CIP and COP of fermentation vessels and brewhouse

    Performing day to day production activities

    Yeast handling (coordinating with Fermentaria and Dispensary staff, as well as lab staff)

    Transferring beer from fermentation to serving tanks

    Wort and beer transfers to and from oak vessels

    Handling all cellar work (ingredient processing and adding, dry hopping, carbonating, tapping, transferring, kegging, bottling, etc)

    ● Participating in company meetings

    ● Participating and leading service staff trainings

    ● Adhering to all safety protocols

    ● Modeling adherence to company policies

    ● Treating others with kindness and respect

    Abilities and Skills:

    ● Superior brewing and management skills

    ● Able to work independently to manage a team of 12 staff members

    ● Strong organizational skills

    ● Able to record and manage documentation accurately in a timely manner

    ● Able to kneel, stoop, and work in tight spaces, lift, move, pull, and push 35lb or more of materials, move full kegs onto and off of pallets, drive a forklift, climb ladders, and to work safely with chemicals

    ● Able to retain confidential company knowledge

    ● Able to function in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment

    ● Able to learn new skills and follow instructions consistently

    ● Able to work with honesty and integrity

    ● Able to work independently and in team setting, with emphasis on thriving in team work

    ● Friendly, professional attitude

    ● Strong team leader qualities

    ● Excellent time management skills

    ● Able to be flexible in both schedule and duties. This is not a 9-5 job

    ● Passionate about creating beer and engaging with our brewing community

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    ● Three to four years of experience managing a production team at a brewery that

    produces 10,000 bbls or more annually

    ● Valid driver’s license with no restrictions

    ● Able to lift 35lbs; able to move 55lbs using tools such as a hand truck or a forklift

    ● Able to stand and work for up to 12 hours at a time, and kneel and stoop occasionally

    Desired Qualifications:

    ● Six or more years brewing at a brewery that produces at least 10,000 bbls annually

    ● Superior management experience

    ● Serious Positive Mental Attitude
