    Position Overview
    The Assistant Brewer will aid the Head Brewer in all aspects of brewery operations. This position reports to the Head Brewer. The primary job focus and function will be cleaning draft lines, kegs, and tanks. The Assistant Brewer will also be expected to train to competence in all major brewery operations - CIP, basic brewday tasks, packaging, etc. This is a unique ground-floor position well-suited to a person looking to make the leap into professional brewing.

    We are working to open a second tap room later this summer. As the company grows the Assistant Brewer’s role will grow as well, with lots of hands-on training.

    Essential Duties
    -Weekly draft line cleaning and maintenance
    -Washing kegs
    -Tank cleaning: Brewhouse, FVs, and BBTs
    -Keeping dry-storage, cold boxes, brewhouse organized
    -Deep cleaning the brewhouse area
    -Keg delivery
    -Other tasks, as necessary

    Qualifications
    -Homebrewing or other brewing/fermentation experience is a plus.
    -You need to love beer, beer culture, beer history, beer everything.
    -Strong work ethic.
    -You need to have time to work this job. The hours are generally weekdays, 8am-3pm. Schedule will start around 16hrs/wk and grow to around 30hrs/wk by the end of the summer with full time likely within the year.
    -Common sense regarding strong chemicals. Additional training and PPE will be provided.
    -Attention to detail.
    -Ability to take direction and work independently.
    -Receptiveness to constructive criticism and ability to provide constructive criticism.
    -21 years of age or older.
    -Ability to multitask and manage time while being detail oriented.
    -Must be able to lift up to 165 lbs (loading kegs on a van)
    -Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day
    -Must have valid drivers license
    -Must be able to enjoy making great beer


    Compensation & Benefits
    This position is entry-level and part-time with an $11/hr wage. 16-20hrs/week will be normal to start with an increase to around 30hrs/week once our new taproom opens up later this summer. This position’s hours will increase with brewery growth and ability of the person hired. Benefits include lunch on work days, Cicerone or BJCP exam reimbursement, professional enrichment opportunities, and beer of course.
