    The Black Abbey Brewing Company in Nashville, TN is looking for one assistant brewer to join our team. We are located on 2952 Sidco Drive. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and hard-working. We are a small team and this is an opportunity to work in all areas of a production brewery.

    The ideal candidate will have experience working in all aspects of a production brewery. You will be a self-starter that is mechanically inclined and has a passion for making great beer. Strong sanitation and organization skills required. Must be able to problem solve on the go. Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Strong communicaion skills required. Positive attitute and a healthy respect for puns a plus.

    The Black Abbey was founded in 2013 and has been growing steadily ever since. We have been named one of the top 3 breweries in the city every year we have been open by The Nashville Scene. Current production is on pace for 4800bbls this year. The Black Abbey is distributing through out the state with most of the sales happening in the metro Nashville market. Our facility is an 11,000 square foot facility with an open floor plan and a taproom where guests can see all that happens as we create our award winning beers. We are a located in South Nashville and have the only air conditioned production brewery in the city.

    Responsibilities

    • Wort production on a 20bbl 2 vessel brewhouse
    • Milling operations
    • Cellar operations including:
    o Transfers
    o Filtration
    o CIP
    o Yeast harvesting/pitching
    • Packaging
    • Shipping and Receiving
    • Laboratory work including yeast counts
    • Operating standup fork truck


    Qualifications

    • Previous experience as a professional brewer is preferred but not required, but home brewing knowledge is.
    • Must be able to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
    • Able to work at height on ladders or platforms
    • Able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Computer literate


    Schedule is mostly M-F with both 1st and some 2nd shift hours.
    Pay is hourly DOE.
