    POSITION: Sales Representative

    POSITION SUMMARY: Works as a member of the Sales Team to partner with retailers and wholesale distributors to ensure sales goals are met and customer needs are exceeded. The work contributes to MadTree’s purpose to cultivate a love of craft, mission to be the most respected brewery in the region, and aligns with the core values -- fun, integrity, sustainability, creativity, quality, leadership, community, and transparency. The Sales Representative will:
    • Be a self-driven individual who is autonomous and organized with a strong desire to win.
    • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail to ensure quality standards and operational efficiency is not compromised.
    • Communicate clearly with team members and management to ensure alignment with all roles and responsibilities.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Ensure the implementation of all sales and marketing programs for the entire portfolio, including development of strategic annual sales plans by account.
    • Motivate distributor sales force to achieve sales objectives.
    • Focus on selling products and/or upgrading number of products in retail accounts (bars/restaurants, liquor/grocery stores).
    • Identify accounts that are not being penetrated with MadTree Brewing Company products and develop a plan to establish business with such accounts.
    • Plan and execute on-premise promotions and education; represent brewery at events, tastings, dinners, festivals – including setup and tear-down of equipment and materials.
    • Develop and maintain close relationships with key accounts both on and off-premise.
    • Work with distributor to increase brand awareness and consumption.
    • Be responsible for the allocation and use of point-of-sale materials.
    • Collect data (e.g. pricing, distribution) as required.
    • Compile and submit reports required for the sales department.
    • Track and monitor progress in all identified accounts.
    • Observe all state and federal laws pertaining to the sale, merchandising and promotion of malt beverages.
    • Provide a high level of service through your personal interactions with customers.
    • Operate effectively within company and budgetary guidelines.


    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.


    IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    • 1-3 years relevant outside alcohol sales experience selling to retailers and consumers, preferably experience with craft beer sales and working within a distribution network.
    • Must have a proven sales record, event creation and execution experience, and know how to have fun.
    • Ability to interface with various levels of management, at wholesale as well as retail.
    • Self-motivation and ability to work with limited amount of direction; ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish goals.
    • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; ability to speak in front of large groups, conduct trainings/promotions.
    • Strong work ethic; demonstrated ability to plan and manage multiple responsibilities.
    • Proficiency in Google and/or Microsoft Office applications.
    • Valid driver's license with active auto insurance, safe driving record, and reliable vehicle; comfort with frequent auto travel.
    • Working knowledge of the craft brewing industry.
    • Working knowledge of major beer styles, including origins and flavor profiles.


    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb.
    • Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell.
    • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Ability to move kegs up to 170 pounds.
    • Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms. Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
    • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
