    Job Description

    The Assistant Brewer will work closely with the Director of Brewing Operations and Head Brewer to ensure all aspects of the brewing process are executed effectively and efficiently and consistent with the process and beer production goals. The position will assist the Head Brewer in all brewing operations and includes cellaring, packaging and quality control. They will work closely with production planning. This is a part time position.


    Job Responsibilities

    • Guarantee a safe & clean working environment by maintaining the facility and equipment in according to OSHA, enforces adherence to safe work practices.
    • Maintain a clean brew house by washing the exterior of the tanks, floors, drains, and sinks regularly to avoid any visual buildup of dust or mold. Organize equipment, materials, and supplies at the end every day.
    • Operate the keg washer and clean kegs.
    • Service the draft equipment every two weeks by following the line cleaning SOP’s.
    • Ensure the cold room stays organized, backup kegs on tap.
    • Keep the brew house running at full capacity without compromising the quality of the product; fermenters full, brite tanks full, barrels full, kegs, walk-in and taps full.
    • Monitor and continuously improve brewing operations with regards to efficiency, cost reduction and profitability.
    • Participate in quality control beginning at the ingredient level, through the brewing process, packaging and all the way until the beer is poured.
    • Work with the Director of Brewing Operations to create the brew schedule.
    • Ensure ingredients are stored & consumed in the first in first out method and report any inventory inconsistencies to the Director of Brewing Operations.
    • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and record service details in the Brewery Maintenance Log.
    • Report to the Director of Brewing Operations any broken equipment that needs to be serviced or replaced.
    • Prepare distribution orders.
    • Cellaring: CIP tanks, dry hop beers, take gravity, time, temperature & pH readings, yeast harvesting, transfer finished product to prepare for packaging.
    • Formulate new beer recipes; core, special release and seasonal beers and collaborate with management team on beer descriptions, names and details.
    • Record all brewing data onto the supplied brew sheets and record new batches into Brew-Dash.
    • Receive deliveries.
    • Other duties as assigned.



    Job Requirements

    • Preferred High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of college.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
    • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds with or without assistance.
    • Punctual and regular, reliable attendance.
    • Honesty and Integrity.
    • Basic computer skills and knowledge. Experience with an iPad and Excel is a plus.
    • Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment.
    • Positive, infectious attitude and sense of humor. Personable, kind, and customer service oriented.
    • Passion for the service industry, desire to be part of a team and work hard, high level of self-awareness and long-term view of success.
    • Must be at least 21 years old.
    • Must be able to pass background check and drug testing.
    • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License and maintain a minimum of $100,000 in auto liability insurance.
    • May be required to work on weekends and holidays.
