  • Pipe through Walk-in Cooler

I want to run sanitary pipe with triclamp ends through the wall of my walk-in cooler so that I can hook up hosing on either end to go from fermentors outside the cooler to brites inside the cooler. Much easier and more efficient than leaving the door open and running hoses through that way.

The question is how do I secure the pipe through the wall on either side so that it doesn’t move or slide back and forth. I’m sure there is some obvious plumbing fitting, I just don’t know what it is?

I did it with expanding foam insulation, the spray kind, worked great.

The spray foam holds the pipe in place okay? I figure the pipe will get pulled on by the hoses and such.

Use one of these on both sides of the wall. https://www.gwkent.com/stainless-ste...yABEgJeNPD_BwE
You may need to install some sort of bracket to mount them to. Also, make sure you install 2 pipes so that you can tie them into a loop for cleaning.

Unistrut combined with the correct style clamps can be used to secure any kind of pipe. Either way for this kind of load you need to bolt all the way through the cooler panels and secure it well, as they are not that sturdy. Self tapping screws are not a good idea for this load and will pull out. Walk in panels are fragile and thin.

Another way to do it is put a couple 6" pvc pipe though the wall to pass hoses. Use pvc caps to cover when not in use.
