    ABOUT US
    Greetings from the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina!

    River Dog Brewing is a GABF and US Open award-winning production brewery located in picturesque Bluffton, SC close to the beaches of Hilton Head Island (about 30 minutes from Savannah and 90 minutes from Charleston). We are a production brewery currently producing 2,200 BBL annually on a 15 BBL brewhouse. We have an on-site Wild Goose canning line with Ska Fab depalletizer, 4-head bottle filler, extensive barrel room with both clean and sour projects. We also have a .5 bbl pilot system and a 12-tap taproom. We are seeking an experienced, creative and hardworking brewer to join the River Dog team.

    We have received approval to construct a brand new 38,000 square foot brewery in Beautiful Old Town Bluffton, complete with an exceptional outdoor beer garden.

    ABOUT THE JOB
    River Dog Brewing Company is seeking an exceptional, self-motivated candidate to join our dedicated and hard-working team. Our successful candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, a mechanical aptitude, and must have at least two years of experience in production brewing (a brewing degree from a recognized brewing school is preferred). Applicants must have a passion for quality beer and quality workmanship, be serious about safety and cleanliness, be able to lift up to 60 pounds, be able to twist and turn, work in hot/cold environments, reach over your shoulders, and work in a standing, walking, or crouching position, at a steady pace.
    The proper candidate in this position will be responsible for wort production, fermentation and yeast management, dry hopping, fining, packaging, and CIP with an eye on process improvements and improving efficiencies.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Wort production on a 15BBL and pilot system
    • Strict adherence to CIP process and SOP's in all areas of the brewery
    • Monitoring and tracking fermentation
    • Dry hopping and Fining
    • Dropping, harvesting and pitching yeast
    • Transferring, Carbonating and helping with packaging finished beer
    • Milling grain and removal of spent grain
    • Various other janitorial type tasks and routine maintenance as dictated
    • Assisting with operating the canning line
    • Creativity for recipe formulation

    REQUIREMENTS
    • 2+ years’ work in commercial brewery production
    • Formal training/ education preferred, but not required
    • Experience in canning/packaging a large plus
    • Knowledge of industry standards and trends
    • Must be 21 years of age or older at time of application

    • Must be punctual, self-motivated, and able to communicate with staff effectively on all levels
    • Ability to solve problems and work through difficult challenges while maintaining a positive attitude
    • Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment with various hazardous chemicals in a hot and humid environment
    • Lifting, pushing, crouching, reaching, walking and standing for extended amounts of time
    • Duties may include occasional nights, weekends, or early mornings depending on production needs (you work until the job is done or someone else is taking over)
    • Overall passion and love for the craft and a desire to grow with it and our company should be your drive
