Position Available: Assistant Brewer/Cellarperson

Watermark Brewing is a dynamic and creative producer of beer (and sometimes other things). We are a small hard working team that focuses on being involved within our community, producing the highest possible quality products, and using our creativity to continuously improve what we do. Watermark packages a small amount, but is primarily taproom driven. Being in a vacation area of sorts, we are able to move vast majority of beer on draft. You will find us in Stevensville, the southwest corner of Michigan.We greatly enjoy our proximity to Lake Michigan, our beautiful sandy beaches, and majestic dunes.
ABOUT THE JOB:
This position will comprise elements of both assistant brewer and cellerperson. Expect a diverse set of tasks in a fast moving environment. Applicants must have a passion for quality beer and quality workmanship, be serious about safety and cleanliness, be able to lift up to 55 pounds, be able to twist and turn, work in hot/cold environments, reach over your shoulders, and work in a standing, walking, or crouching position, at a steady pace. The proper candidate in this position will be responsible for wort production, fermentation and yeast management, dry hopping, fining, packaging,keg washing, draft cleaning, CIP, and more.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Wort production
Fermentation monitoring
Dry hopping
Keg cleaning
Packaging
Draft cleaning
Yeast management
Routine equipment maintenance
And more
REQUIREMENTS:
Formal training in Brewing or work experience in a commercial brewery
Knowledge of beer and industry trends
Canning/bottling experience a huge plus
Must be 21 years of age
IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
STRONG WORK ETHIC
lift and carry up to 55 pounds to chest height.
Ability to adapt to changing situations
Desire to learn new skills and techniques
Creative problem solving skills
Passion and love for the craft!
Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, lifting, kneeling and reaching.
Must be able to stand for the entire shift, up to ten hours.
Consistently able to use repetitive hand and wrist motion.
Work with hot, cold and hazardous equipment and materials.
Compensation will be competitive and based on past experience.
