Cellar Operator at The Post Brewing Company is a dynamic position which requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail and a desire to continuously learn. Within the brewing department, the cellar operator is expected to work collaboratively with all brewery co-workers to insure excellent beer quality, strive for continuous improvement in product and process and contribute to decision making. All co-workers are expected to be ambassadors of our brand within our walls as well as in the market.
Cellar Operator reports to the Brewmaster.
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
Ability to perform all cellar duties
Beer delivery in-house and to on-premise accounts
CIP and Sanitize brewhouse equipment, FVs, BBTs, SVs and yeast brinks
CIP and Sanitize all beer and wort transfer lines
Perform gravity checks
Dry-hop beer
Beer transfer
Clean and Fill kegs
Filter operation including set-up, beer filtration and clean-up
Carbonate beer to brand specifications
Harvest and care for yeast
Perform cell counts and viability staining of harvested yeast
Perform lab duties including IBU, SRM, Microbiological Plating, Gram Staining
Perform all other QA/QC duties
Complete documentation for above processes
Maintain accurate inventory counts
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work environment
Communicate issues and contribute to their resolution
Contributing to a positive work environment through open and constructive dialog
Staging of orders for distributor-pick up
Working of off-site events (festivals, tastings, etc.)
Physical demands and work environment:
Stand for long periods
Heavy physical work
Maneuvering objects up to 165 pounds
Loud to moderate continuous noise in work area
Work on wet floors and around wet equipment
Work with dangerous/hazardous chemicals
Experience required, pay based on experience
Shift:
Monday-Friday - varying times
Weekend shifts will be required as necessary
